At the 11th International Competition and Festival "Winter Stars of Dresden" for 2021, recently held in Dresden, Germany, young mezzo-soprano and alumna of the College of Arts and Media's Music and Performance Department, WEN Muya, was the only competitor to win a gold award in the professional category of opera singing with a perfect score. This was the second time she has won a gold award, after winning the first in the 7th International Vocal Competition "Winter Fairy Tale" in St. Petersburg, Russia, in January of this year.

In the lastest competition, Muya sang the aria "voi lo sapete, o mama" from Mascagni's opera "Cavalleria Rusticana" as the grand finale under the direction of Professor WANG Liqin from the College of Arts and Media of Tongji University. Her performance received unanimous high marks from the judges, and won the gold award, in a competition that had previously been dominated by Russian artists.
