The 15th Asia Pacific Leadership Programme on Environment for Sustainable Development

On September 17th, the 15th Asia Pacific Leadership Programme on Environment for Sustainable Development started at the UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development. A total of 32 participants from 11 countries including China, France, India, Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Zimbabwe attended the program which focused on Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Development. Most of the participants hold managerial positions with government bodies, international organizations, universities, NGOs and enterprises.

Lectures were provided by experts with diverse backgrounds from different institutions and universities including UNEP, United Nations University, Asian Institute of Technology, Tongji University and organizations of sustainable development in Asia.

The programme has been held in Tongji University once a year since 2004. Up to now, over 400 emerging leaders from more than 50 nations and regions have participated in it, among which over 30 nations were in the Asia-Pacific Region. The programme also attracted people from Africa, Europe and North America. They shared their experience in environment and sustainable development.
