Tongji University Selected as Research Base for International Cyberspace Governance

On July 5th, an opening ceremony of Research Bases for International Cyberspace Governance was held in Beijing. Representatives from ten universities which were selected as the first group of research bases in China, including Beihang University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Renmin Public Security University of China, Southeast University, Tongji University, Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, and Zhejiang University participated in the ceremony. JIANG Bo, Vice President of Tongji University and the head of the School of Politics and International Relations attended the ceremony on behalf of Tongji University.

The selection of the first group of the Research Bases for International Cyberspace Governance was co-organized by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Ministry of Education. It aimed at taking full advantage of the expertise and resources of universities and encouraging universities to further strengthen their theoretical research, disciplinary construction and personnel training in related fields. In addition, it will also help promote international exchange and cooperation in cyberspace, and contribute to the development of the global internet industry.
