AUF Summer School for French-Speaking Students in Asia-Pacific Region Opens

The First Summer School for French-Speaking students in the Asia-Pacific Region, co-organized by Tongji University and Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AFU), opened at the Sino-France Center, Tongji University, on July 9th.

This year`s summer school focused on the theme of Future Cities and Transportation. With a series of lectures, site visits, workshops and group projects, the one-week training program sought to improve communication between students and experts in academic and business circles, to help them develop profound understanding of the hot issues in related fields as well as to present to them China`s contributions to future cities and transportation. The 15 students with academic background in architecture, landscape architecture, environmental science, chemistry, aeronautics, business administration, law, psychology and French were from Vietnam, Cambodia, France and China.

At the opening ceremony, the Foreign Affairs Office of Tongji University gave the students a warm welcome by introducing to them the history of Tongji University and its cooperation with AFU. According to the program schedule, the students who were organized in two groups were connected online with their project supervisors Prof. PAN Haixiao from College of Architecture and Urban Planning and Prof. ZHANG Lun from College of Transportation Engineering, Tongji University in the afternoon.
