Exhibition of Urban-Planning History Opens at University Museum

An exhibition, titled ‘Urban-Planning Evolution from World War Two to 21st Century in 22 Cities of Historic Interests,’ opened at the University Museum in Tongji University on Mar. 14th. The exhibition was hosted by Tongji University, jointly organized by World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for the Asia and Pacific under the Auspices of UNESCO (WHITR-AP), as well as Tongji University Museum, and sponsored by Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute. More than 50 guests attended the exhibition opening ceremony, to include department leaders from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University, the University Museum and WHITR-AP, and Tongji teachers and students as well.
With 70 meticulously designed display panels, 22 introductory brochures, and a number of 3D models and demonstration videos, the exhibition introduced the overall urban design of 22 well-known cities in human history to the audience -- from Bologna, Baghdad and Pingyao County to Chester, and Cuzco and Rome. It gave a detailed account of the development in the cultural heritage protection from World War Two to 21st Century in the above cities.
The exhibition began on Mar. 14th and will end on Apr. 5th 2018.
